Death Doula/Grief Companion/Celebrant and Ritualist, Debra values what is important and sacred to the people and communities she is honored to serve.
By tending to the cycles of life through the spokes of death and grief, Debra has chosen to apply her lived experience in service of others as Co-Founder and Doula of Death Transitions.
A certified CareDoula and Morning Altars Teacher, with expanded training in World Religions, Trauma-Informed Care, Trauma-Loss & Grief Companioning, DEIB, Sound Baths, and Non-violent Communication.
Her volunteer service with Joshua's House, a hospice for the unhoused in Sacramento, is representative of her passion to serve those who are underserved, misunderstood, and underrepresented. A lover of Earth and a life lived in joyous wonder, she brings practical knowledge, innate wisdom, and honor to serving the dying and their loved ones.

Renee Avalos has been accompanying people through different thresholds of life for over 20 years. Professionally, Renee is a chef and gardener with a special skill in tending to people, pets, plants, and homes.
With deep respect, she is a nurturer of the vitality of life and death. As a first generation born in SF, CA, with roots in El Salvador, Central America, she is a Spanish speaker and holds a deep honoring of cultural values, traditions, and food.
Renee specializes in nourishment, prayer and joy.
She is a certified CareDoula.

Visionaries, and truly talented and gifted musicians, with hearts of gold, Sound Meditation Presents is opening the doors for all by advocating for the use of sound meditation in the clinical, medical, and hospice settings. SMP is most passionate about supporting those at end of life by offering their highly regarded sound meditation app, and soon, to be present during the death vigil of our clients, their care partners, and beloveds. We are graced with their partnership to support those on their end-of-life journey as we truly believe in the power of music to heal our anxieties and maintain calm through the threshold of life and death. Sound Meditation Presents are the voices we wish to hear in the coming and going of this earthly existence.
